Tempered Glass (toughened glass) has been an essential building material element in the contemporary, you can see it from windows, doors, handrails, tabletops, shelves, cabinets, etc. Toughened Glass also is one of the composite components in the building's facade. Then what is tempered glass?
Tempered glass has been through from annealed glass via a thermal tempering process, the materials can be clear float glass, ultra-clear glass, tinted glass, reflective glass, and Low E glass, and so on. These materials are cut in to specify sizes subject to orders required. After grinding edges, washed, dried, they are passed on to the next process--Tempered furnace. Accelerating temperature up to 700℃, then cooling down rapidly. The tempering process puts compressive surface stresses give tempered glass increased strength. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to shatter into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as ordinary annealed glass does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
